Classic Exchange Sunday 29th January 2012

All amateur radio operators are invited to join in on the Classic Exchange this coming Sunday, January 29.

It's a low key contest/QSO party for folks who enjoy running older equipment of any age or variety. You can find details at http://www.classicexchange.org/ . Click on January 2012 CX ANNOUNCEMENT.

This Sunday will be the CW portion of the CX. There is usually quite a bit of activity on 40 meters, centered around 7045 kc, in the afternoon.

Folks then move to 80 meters later on, working around 3534 kc. You may also find 20 meter activity around 14045, especially in the early to mid afternoon. You can drop in for just a few minutes, or you can stay for several hours if you wish.

You can work the same station on different bands or even again on the same band if he or you changes his transmitter or receiver or both - or even his transceiver - so there are plenty of opportunities for QSOs.

This time we will have a participant from Japan! Kazu, JA3KNB, should be on 21135 starting around 0000 Z. Please listen for him and give him a CX QSO. He's a really nice guy.

The phone portion of the CX for AM, FM and SSB will run on Sunday, February 12. Details are also on the web page above.

Hope to CU on the CX, Jim Hanlon, W8KGI, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
