Join Us for the John Moyle Field Day at Carss Park – This Saturday! 📡🌿

The SGARS crew is heading outdoors this Saturday, 21st March, for the John Moyle Field Day Contest—and you’re invited to be part of the action!

Whether you’re a seasoned operator or just curious about amateur radio, this is a fantastic chance to experience portable radio in a relaxed, social setting. Get hands-on, learn something new, and enjoy a great afternoon by the water.

🕒 When:
Setup from around 1:00pm (earlier arrivals welcome!)
Operating kicks off at 2:00pm and runs for approximately 6 hours

📍 Where:
Carrs Park – BBQ area (western side, near Beach St & Torrens St, Blakehurst)
Look for the picnic shelters by the water—if you arrive early, grab the one closest to the shoreline!

🎒 What to bring:
Got gear? Bring it along! Radios, antennas, batteries—everything is welcome.
Peter (VK2EMU) will also be supplying shared equipment, plus tables, chairs, and shelter if needed.
Don’t forget to pack some snacks and drinks to keep you going.

🚗 Getting there:

• Public transport: Buses from Hurstville Station run past Carrs Park and across Tom Uglys Bridge
• Driving: Park at the end of Bunyala Street
  • Coming from the north? Turn left at the lights just before the Ampol station

Even though Peter will arrive around 1:00pm due to earlier commitments, feel free to come down earlier, enjoy the park, and help secure a good spot.
