New members are always welcome at The St George Amateur Radio Society. Your membership will go towards supporting the activities of the society including provision of training and assesment activities, 2m FM and UHF DMR repeaters, amateur radio contests and Jamboree On The Air (JOTA).

You do not have to reside within the St George area, many of our members live in various areas around Sydney and beyond. Also you do not have to be a qualified amateur radio operator.

To become a member, just complete the application form, which is downloadable from this website HERE. Your application must be supported by a nominator, who is a current member. If you do not know any current members, then either come along to an SGARS monthly gathering, or forward your completed application to the secretary, and we will try and find someone to support your application.

Please forward your application form to the secretary either in person at one of our regular gatherings, or by mail to PO Box 530 Engadine NSW 2233. Application forms can also be sent electronically, by first scanning and saving in pdf format, then email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Please DO NOT send the form in an "image" format such a jpeg etc. If you do not have access to a scanner, there are apps available for android and apple smart devices to convert camera images into pdf format.

Once your application has been received, the secretary will refer your application to the committee for approval. The secretary will advise you of the decision. Membership fee is required to be paid within one month. The current SGARS membership fee is $40.00 per annum. A joining fee of $5.00 also applies for new member applications.
