At the April SGARS gathering, Peter VK2EMU will be sharing his experience with 3D Printing and Laser Cutting for Amateur Radio.

While 3D printing is not new, in the last few years the prices of machines has dropped, and they are now affordable for casual hobbyists. Many items useful to radio experimenting can printed, such as; coil formers, PCB holders, antenna parts, mounting hardware, plugs and sockets to name but a few. In the same way, laser cutters can be used to produce items, like - custom boxes, coil formers, and mounting hardware.

Various items will be displayed and open-source software for designing 3D prints and laser cuts will be demonstrated, and attendees with items that they have 3D printed or laser cut are invited to bring them along.

You are invited to the April gathering of the Society, now at Mortdale RSL club, 25 Macquarie Pl, Mortdale NSW 2223, commencing 7:30pm.
