This contest commemorates the Amateurs who died during World War II and is designed to encourage friendly participation and help improve the operating skills of participants. It is held on the weekend closest to the 15th August, the date on which hostilities ceased in the southwest Pacific area.
The contest is open to single or multi operator stations, using AM, FM, SSB, CW and RTTY modes, on designated segments of HF and VHF and above bands. Full contest operating rules and information is available on the Wireless Institute of Australia (WIA) website. Points are awarded for contacts, with additional points for operating World War II radio equipment.
